VSECU, the only statewide credit union for everyone who lives or works in Vermont, recently opened a new branch in St. Johnsbury at 1036 Memorial Drive. The credit union held its grand opening celebration on Thursday, February 20.
The branch is designed as an environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient building to meet Energy Star certification standards. Amenities include a community room, which can be reserved and used by area residents, as well as a Tech Center where VSECU members can access free WiFi with their personal devices or with the ones supplied by the credit union. Teller service is available through a Personal Teller Machine that connects to a live teller in the Montpelier branch and doesn’t require any transaction slips or envelopes.
During the ceremony VSECU’s President Steve Post expressed his thanks to those involved in the renovation of the building, the design of its interior and the dedicated staff who are now helping members at the new branch. VSECU’s Board of Directors Chairman, Jerry Diamond, conveyed gratification for finally having a physical presence in the Northeast Kingdom.
The Market Manager responsible for the branch and serving members of the St. Johnsbury community, Marcel Dionne, was officially introduced to the credit union’s members. He has lived in the St. Johnsbury area and has been in banking and corporate finance for over 20 years. “I look forward to helping our community in the coming years. I see so much vibrancy in the Northeast Kingdom and our credit union is proud to be a part of its growth.”
VSECU members in northeastern Vermont are now able to sit down with a member service consultant close to home. The branch offers all VSECU financial products and services and includes a fully accessible 24/7 ATM.
VSECU is a not for profit banking alternative for all Vermonters that is owned and controlled by its members and governed by an elected volunteer board of directors. The credit union offers a full range of affordable financial products and services to its member owners. People eligible to join the credit union include everybody who lives or works in Vermont.
