South Burlington, VT 10/6/14 – Lund is delighted to announce a $5000 gift from VSECU, to the 50 Joy Drive Capital Campaign. This generous gift will help to complete the purchase of Lund’s new facility at 50 Joy Drive which houses our Adoption Program, High School completion program, Parent Child Center, 5 STAR Early Childhood Education Program and Business / Development Offices. 50 Joy Drive is Lund’s second permanent site, complementing the Residential Treatment Program on Glen Road in Burlington.

A reading nook in one of the early childhood classrooms will be dedicated in honor of the credit union’s generosity. Executive Director of Lund, Barbara Rachelson says, ““I am so thankful for the support of the VSECU to the 50 Joy Drive Capital Campaign. We could not do the work that we do to help children and families thrive and to help women, children and families break cycles of poverty, abuse and addiction without generous contributions from the community. We know that VSECU holds the importance of ‘people helping people’ as one of their key values and this gift is a powerful example of that in action.”

Yvonne Garand, SVP of Business Development, at VSECU said the Board of Directors is proud to support Lund. “Our giving program at VSECU focuses on opportunities that enrich the lives of Vermonters. We’re happy to support Lund in their mission to help children thrive, strengthen families and support individual sustainability.”

For over 120 years, Lund has been helping families to break the cycles of poverty, addiction and abuse. Lund creates hope, opportunity and family for Vermonters through community and residential treatment for mental health and substance abuse, education, family support, life-skills and job training and early childhood education. Lund is also Vermont’s oldest adoption agency. Lund is a member agency of the United Way of Chittenden County.
